01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nestled in the vibrant culinary landscape of Newport, Victoria, Siam Kitchen stands out as a beacon of authentic Thai cuisine that continually delights the senses. This charming Thai restaurant, located at 334 Melbourne Rd, offers diners an immersive experience filled with rich aromas, bold flavors, and a welcoming atmosphere that keeps both locals and visitors coming back for more.

From the moment you step into Siam Kitchen, you’re greeted by the warm hospitality that complements their expertly crafted menu. The kitchen brings traditional Thai culture to life with a diverse selection of dishes that highlight the freshest ingredients and time-honored recipes. Seafood lovers will find themselves enchanted by the Soft Shell Crab in Curry Sauce (Pad Pu Pong Kari), where tender crab is stir-fried with vibrant curry powder, creamy coconut milk, and a medley of crisp vegetables, all topped with fragrant coriander. The Deep Fried Fish with Ginger (Pla Rad Nam King) is another standout—a whole 800-gram snapper fried to perfection, served with a savory ginger and mushroom sauce that instantly elevates the dish. For those seeking a zesty option, the Spicy Steamed Fish (Pla Nung Manaow) delivers robust Thai flavors wrapped in fresh herbs and lime, capturing the essence of coastal Thailand.

The soups at Siam Kitchen also embody the complexity and warmth Thai cuisine is known for. The classic Tom Yum is a spicy, invigorating broth infused with lemongrass, tomato, and coriander—a perfect starter to awaken your palate. Their Chicken & Coconut Soup (Tom Kha Gai) is a silky, comforting blend of coconut milk, kaffir lime, and mushrooms that soothes with every sip, while the Prawn & Chicken Soup (Gang Jeud) offers a delicate balance of minced chicken, fresh prawns, and vibrant vegetables in a clear broth.

Curries at Siam Kitchen are a testament to their dedication to authentic taste and quality. The Thai Green Curry (Kia Wan) and Thai Red Curry (Gang Dang) are both luxurious, creamy experiences, loaded with mixed vegetables and topped with aromatic basil leaves that create layers of flavor without overwhelming the senses. Their own take on the Pumpkin Curry introduces a beautifully nuanced sweetness and richness that is uniquely inviting.

What truly sets Siam Kitchen apart is not just the impeccable food but the warm and inviting atmosphere that makes every meal feel like a special occasion. Customers like Bruno Zovko praise it for never disappointing with “great food, service, and atmosphere,” while Phil Saunders highlights how the restaurant brings the genuine taste of Bangkok right to Newport, making it a treasured local gem. The attentive service and efficient takeaway option add the perfect touch of convenience, as noted by Trevor Warren, emphasizing Siam Kitchen’s commitment to customer satisfaction.

Whether you’re indulging in a night out with friends, savoring a family dinner, or simply craving an authentic taste of Thailand, Siam Kitchen promises an unforgettable culinary journey. With each dish lovingly prepared and every detail thoughtfully attended to, it’s no surprise that patrons like Clint Goddard claim it as the best Thai food outside Thailand.

For anyone craving honest, flavorful Thai cuisine wrapped in genuine hospitality, Siam Kitchen stands as an essential stop in Newport’s food scene—a place where every bite tells a story and every visit feels like home.

I remember my first time to Siam Kitchen!! It was the very first night and Jake and the crew have our family as regulars - yes, extremely regular We lived in Bangkok and I can tell you that the food at Siam Kitchen is first rate. No need to go all the way to BKK to savor the flavors of Thailand. A local treasure. Keep up the amazing food and hospitality. Sue and Phil.

Good Thai food and affordable prices. The service is great and take away gets sorted in a jiffy. The lady said 10 mins and by the time i got there the order was ready to be picked up. Siam is probably one of the better Thai places around Newport, Altona. Recommend Siam over all the others I've tried.
